{"id":803554,"date":"2020-01-28T10:27:30","date_gmt":"2020-01-28T17:27:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/?p=378161"},"modified":"2020-01-28T10:27:30","modified_gmt":"2020-01-28T17:27:30","slug":"two-people-from-wisconsin-ok-after-small-plane-crashes-near-woody-creek-outside-of-aspen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/local-news\/two-people-from-wisconsin-ok-after-small-plane-crashes-near-woody-creek-outside-of-aspen\/","title":{"rendered":"Two people from Wisconsin OK after small plane crashes near Woody Creek outside of Aspen"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/05\/PublicSafetyWebCard-SDN-1024x638.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>A small plane made a \u201cforced landing\u201d Monday afternoon near Woody Creek outside of Aspen and the two people on board are OK, according to the Pitkin County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>In a news release sent Tuesday morning, the Sheriff\u2019s Office said Tyler and Kristina Noel of Verona, Wisc., were in the 2017 Cirrus SR22T that crashed \u201cinto a densely wooded area on an extremely steep mountainside\u201d after the plane\u2019s built-in parachute was deployed.<\/p>\n<p>According to<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FlyAspenAirport\" target=\"_blank\">&nbsp;tweets from the Aspen airport<\/a>, the \u201csmall GA aircraft made an emergency landing and parachute was deployed.\u201d It went down about 4.5 miles north of the airport, they said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\" readability=\"5.9248366013072\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"5.9248366013072\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MtnRescueAspen?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MtnRescueAspen<\/a> members are in the field making their way to the crash site now which is located in a remote section of wilderness in the Woody Creek area. Sheriff (@PitkinSheriff) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PitkinSheriff\/status\/1221948183393103872?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 28, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Pitkin County Sheriff\u2019s Deputy Alex Burchetta said Monday night a group from Mountain Rescue Aspen was deployed after the Sheriff\u2019s Office was notified about 3:25 p.m. of the plane in distress.<\/p>\n<p>Snow conditions made the trek difficult, the Sheriff\u2019s Office said.
