{"id":803638,"date":"2020-01-30T10:32:24","date_gmt":"2020-01-30T17:32:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=945478"},"modified":"2020-01-30T10:32:24","modified_gmt":"2020-01-30T17:32:24","slug":"hayley-williams-undergoes-a-metamorphosis-in-new-leave-it-alone-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/hayley-williams-undergoes-a-metamorphosis-in-new-leave-it-alone-video\/","title":{"rendered":"Hayley Williams Undergoes a Metamorphosis in New \u2018Leave It Alone\u2019 Video"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Hayley.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>Paramore\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/hayley-williams\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hayley-williams\" data-tag=\"hayley-williams\">Hayley Williams<\/a> experiences a metamorphosis in the new video for \u201cLeave It Alone,\u201d the second single from her upcoming debut solo album <em>Petals for Armor<\/em>, out May 8th.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Warren Fu, who also oversaw lead single <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/hayley-williams-petals-for-armor-simmer-940942\/\">\u201cSimmer,\u201d<\/a> the clip features Williams as an insect waking up in a cocoon. \u201cDon\u2019t nobody tell me that God don\u2019t have a sense of humor\/ Cause now that I want to live,\u201d she sings before strolling through the woods. \u201cWell everybody around me is dying\/ Now that I finally want to live the ones I love are dying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt really sucks that you do have to dig through the dirtiest shit to find like the diamonds,\u201d Williams recently told Zane Lowe of the track. \u201cLike you\u2019ve got to burn all of it off.\u201d She also explained the struggles her family has gone through recently, such as her grandmother falling down the stairs and suffering head trauma. \u201cThe weirdest thing is that she got better, but it prolonged the grief because she\u2019s not really here with us,\u201d she said. \u201cShe doesn\u2019t really remember everything. Thankfully she knows who I am, she knows who my mom is, but she really doesn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was so tough and felt like there was a lot of death at the time,\u201d Williams continued. \u201cAnd I just thought like, what is the point of loving people? Like why? Even in the best case scenario, I fall in love, we have a life together and then we lose one or the other. It\u2019s terrifying. The more you love, the more you stand to lose\u2026 I struggle with it all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Williams announced her debut solo LP last week. Her most recent album with Paramore,&nbsp;<em>After Laughter<\/em>, was released in 2017. That album marked the return of original member Zac Farro on drums after the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/paramore-settle-lawsuit-with-former-bassist-119785\/\">departure of bassist<\/a>&nbsp;Jeremy Davis.
