James Hetfield<\/a> made his first public appearance Thursday since returning to rehab<\/a> at a Los Angeles automotive museum exhibiting<\/a> the Metallica<\/a> singer\u2019s classic cars.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hetfield\u2019s attendance at the Petersen Automotive Museum reception was announced weeks earlier, and on Thursday the rocker showed up as scheduled at the \u201cReclaimed Rust: The James Hetfield Collection\u201d pre-opening ceremony, which was also attended by his Metallica band mate Robert Trujillo, Blabbermouth reports<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The singer also participated in a Q&A at the event. \u201cThere\u2019s no other place like this,\u201d Hetfield said. \u201cThe Petersen is the pinnacle. It\u2019s the best place to have your vehicles. They weren\u2019t doing me much good sitting in my garage. I loved looking at them. The best part is they\u2019re all together. I didn\u2019t want to auction them off and [have them] go all over the world. It\u2019s a collection. It marks my life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
