The enforcement period is the second of 16 planned this year and will run from Jan. 31 through Feb. 3.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bottom line is that if you\u2019ve had a drink, don\u2019t drive,\u201d said Col. Matthew Packard, chief of the Colorado State Patrol. \u201cNo level of impairment is acceptable. We want to deter drivers from getting behind the wheel impaired, which in turn saves lives on Colorado roads.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last year, officers arrested 315 impaired drivers during the Super Bowl weekend. More than 522 impaired drivers were arrested during CDOT\u2019s last enforcement period \u2014 the Winter Blitz from Jan. 17-27 \u2014 including at least 13 in Summit County.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read more about the problem of DUIs in Summit County:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Summit County\u2019s Fifth Judicial District has the second highest rate of DUI charges per capita in Colorado.
