{"id":803759,"date":"2020-02-03T11:03:48","date_gmt":"2020-02-03T18:03:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=946881"},"modified":"2020-02-03T11:03:48","modified_gmt":"2020-02-03T18:03:48","slug":"hayley-williams-on-depression-my-dog-is-the-reason-im-alive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/hayley-williams-on-depression-my-dog-is-the-reason-im-alive\/","title":{"rendered":"Hayley Williams on Depression: \u2018My Dog Is the Reason I\u2019m Alive\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/hayley-williams-2.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>In a new interview with Zane Lowe, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/paramore\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paramore\" data-tag=\"paramore\">Paramore<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/hayley-williams\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hayley-williams\" data-tag=\"hayley-williams\">Hayley Williams<\/a> discussed her upcoming solo debut, depression and her adoration for Billie Eilish.<\/p>\n<p>Williams teared up while discussing having suicidal thoughts during the making of Paramore\u2019s 2017 album <em>After Laughter<\/em>. \u201cMy dog is the reason I\u2019m alive, because he would\u2019ve been waiting on me to get home, no matter what,\u201d she admitted. \u201cYou know how little sweet little puppies sit and they wait? I couldn\u2019t think about it\u2026whoa, I\u2019ve never cried in an interview before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause life is still hard,\u201d she added. \u201cIt didn\u2019t become a breeze overnight or anything and it\u2019s been years and it\u2019s still not a breeze, but it\u2019s so rich and now that I\u2019m taking account of all these feelings and I\u2019m feeling all of them, there\u2019s this beautiful rainbow versus just the deep end.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The singer also discussed her respect for Billie Eilish.&nbsp;\u201cWe got a head start on the culture that is the internet now, and the fast-paced life that artists and people are living,\u201d she says of Paramore, which she formed in 2004. \u201cIf I were Billie Eilish today \u2014 and granted she\u2019s on a rocket that\u2019s going so much higher than I would have ever even dreamed for Paramore \u2014 if that were me I would be insane and [struggle]. I am so happy there\u2019s someone like her who has great, really cool family around her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Williams recently announced her debut solo LP, <em>Petals For Armor<\/em>, out May 8th. She dropped two singles \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/hayley-williams-petals-for-armor-simmer-940942\/\">\u201cSimmer\u201d<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/hayley-williams-leave-it-alone-video-945478\/\">\u201cLeave It Alone\u201d<\/a> \u2014 both accompanied by videos directed by Warren Fu. \u201cIt\u2019s the idea that being vulnerable is a shield,\u201d she told Lowe of the LP. \u201cBecause how else can you be a human that\u2019s inevitably gonna fuck up and trip in front of the world a million times?
