Savages<\/a>\u2019 singer Jehnny Beth<\/a> has announced her solo debut, To Love Is to Live<\/em>, out May 8th on Caroline Records. The French musician also dropped the single \u201cFlower.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first verse of the track is hauntingly sparse, with Beth singing quietly until she reaches the chorus; \u201cShe loves me and I love her,\u201d she declares. \u201cI\u2019m not sure how to please her.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLife\u2019s so strange,\u201d Beth wrote on her Instagram.<\/a> \u201cToday is the day of my album announcement and I\u2019m on a train to see my dad who\u2019s spent the last two days in intensive care. I was supposed to be in L.A. to promote the album this week but decided to be with family instead.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cWhen I started making this record all I could think about was the impermanence of life, that I had to do this before it\u2019s too late, and here I am now sitting on a train telling you that my album is coming and it\u2019s called TO LOVE IS TO LIVE<\/em>. Today those words resonate more than ever. There isn\u2019t really anything else in life, is it?\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

The LP features the producer Flood, who\u2019s also set to produce Radiohead Ed O\u2019Brien\u2019s upcoming solo debut.<\/a> \u201cFlower\u201d follows the single \u201cI\u2019m the Man,<\/a>\u201d which was included on the Peaky Blinders<\/em> soundtrack and featured a spoken-word intro by Blinders<\/em> star Cillian Murphy.<\/p>\n

After a summer leg in Europe, Beth will head to the States for a four-date trek in July, including an evening at New York\u2019s Webster Hall on July 25th.<\/p>\n
