Two burgeoning British artists, Slowthai<\/a> and Mura Masa<\/a>, made their U.S. television debuts Tuesday on The Tonight Show<\/a><\/em> with a riotous performance of their collaboration, \u201cDeal Wiv It.\u201d<\/p>\n

The track finds Slowthai, an incredibly versatile MC, putting in a blistering punk shift over Mura Masa and his band\u2019s blown-out instrumentals. On the track, Slowthai vents about life\u2019s major and minor indignities \u2014 from rising beer prices to family feuds to the slow march toward death. The rapper quickly peeled off his shirt (as is his wont<\/a>) and began flying around the stage, jumping on Jimmy Fallon\u2019s desk and sprawling out on the guest couch.<\/p>\n

\u201cDeal Wiv It\u201d appears on Mura Masa\u2019s most recent album, R.Y.C.<\/i>, which was released last month. Mura Masa will return to the U.S. in the spring for a North American tour<\/a> that kicks off April 16th at the Warfield in San Francisco.<\/p>\n

As for Slowthai, he released his debut album, Nothing Great About Britain<\/i>, last year, while more recently he teamed with Gorillaz for their new song, \u201cMomentary Bliss.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Speaking with Rolling Stone<\/i>, Damon Albarn called Slowthai \u201ca kindred spirit,\u201d<\/a> adding: \u201cYou need to work with kindred spirits, people who are really in the same pocket as you are, about worldview and emotion. That\u2019s something where you have to kind of go on instinct, because you can listen to people\u2019s music and be an admirer from afar, but until you\u2019re actually in the room with each other, you really know whether there\u2019s gonna be any kind of connection.\u201d<\/p>\n
