FRISCO \u2014 Following the biggest storm of the season so far in Summit County, Breckenridge Ski Resort reported that it received more than 4 feet of snow. The deep accumulation means there\u2019s lots of powder on the mountain but also potentially unsafe conditions on certain terrain.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Feb. 7, the resort reported 19 inches of snow in 24 hours and announced that high-Alpine terrain was closed with no estimated time of opening. On Sunday, Feb. 9, the resort reported that the high-Alpine terrain remains closed with no estimated time of opening. <\/p>\n

Breckenridge spokeswoman Sara Lococo reported that Chair 6 and T-Bar are open but the rest of high-Alpine terrain \u2014 including all of Peak 6, Peak 8, Imperial, Zendo Chair and Kensho Superchair \u2014 are closed. <\/p>\n

\u201cDue to the nature of our high alpine, we can never guarantee opening times for our upper mountain lifts and terrain,\u201d Lococo wrote in a text message. \u201cThat is the case on any given day throughout the season but is especially true when we\u2019re in a big storm cycle like this one. It all depends on when patrol deems it safe and ready to open for guests.\u201d<\/p>\n

Copper Mountain Resort also closed Tucker Mountain, Spaulding Bowl, Western Union Ridge and the Upper Enchanted Forest for safety work, according to a tweet. <\/p>\n
