{"id":804043,"date":"2020-02-11T04:30:23","date_gmt":"2020-02-11T11:30:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=950354"},"modified":"2020-02-11T04:30:23","modified_gmt":"2020-02-11T11:30:23","slug":"rolling-stone-and-music-business-worldwide-enter-comprehensive-new-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/rolling-stone-and-music-business-worldwide-enter-comprehensive-new-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Rolling Stone and Music Business Worldwide Enter Comprehensive New Deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/RS-Music_Business.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p><em>Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s parent company Penske Media Corporation announced today a strategic investment in Music Business Worldwide \u2014 a deal that brings the two publications closer than ever before, adds another heavyweight to PMC\u2019s family of media brands, and further enriches <em>Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s coverage and analysis of the global <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/music-industry\/\" id=\"auto-tag_music-industry\" data-tag=\"music-industry\">music industry<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The substantial equity investment strengthens the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/music-business-worldwide-and-rolling-stone-ink-global-content-partnership\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">global content partnership<\/a> that <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> and Music Business Worldwide first struck in 2018. Under the new partnership, MBW \u2014 which was founded in 2015 to service the music industry with breaking news and analysis and saw 7.3 million pageviews in 2019 \u2014 will contribute its expert business coverage to <em>Rolling Stone. <\/em>The music-industry news outlet will also play a role in RS Pro, <em>Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s forthcoming suite of powerful tools for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/rolling-stone-pro-943737\/\">music-business professionals<\/a>, and work alongside Alpha Data, the analytics company that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/welcome-to-rolling-stone-charts-853157\/\">powers the <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> Charts<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Since PMC\u2019s acquisition of <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> in 2017, the music brand has relaunched its print magazine, modernized its website, launched <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/charts\/\">music charts<\/a>, and added a music-business team to its newsroom spanning multiple cities. In January,<em> Rolling Stone<\/em> also hired two new music-business reporters in Los Angeles, Samantha Hissong and Ethan Millman, to join the global team.<\/p>\n<p> <!-- .l-article-content__pull--left --> <\/p>\n<p>The new investment paves the way for new revenue models and innovation on top of those moves.&nbsp;Tim Ingham, the London-based founder and publisher of MBW, says: \u201cFive years into MBW\u2019s story, we are confident that in PMC we have found the perfect partner with which to join forces.
