Snoop Dogg<\/a> publicly apologized to Gayle King on Wednesday after he verbally attacked her on social media for bringing up the rape allegations against the late Kobe Bryant<\/a> in an interview with WNBA\u2019s Lisa Leslie.<\/p>\n

In an interview clip<\/a> from CBS This Morning<\/em> last week, King asked Leslie if she thought Bryant\u2019s legacy might be \u201ccomplicated\u201d<\/a> by a 2003 sexual assault charge against him, which was ultimately dropped after the accuser declined to testify. A civil suit followed, which was settled. Bryant admitted to adultery, but claimed it was consensual. In a separate incident, a Washington Post<\/em> journalist also reportedly received death threats<\/a> for simply bringing up the allegations by tweeting a link to a 2016 Daily Beast <\/em>story<\/a>, which recounted the accuser\u2019s version of the events.<\/p>\n

After King and Leslie\u2019s interview clip was shared, Snoop Dogg appeared to threaten King<\/a> in a video, saying \u201cBack off, bitch, before we come get you.\u201d Following the rapper\u2019s post, King apparently received a number of death threats, according to her close friend Oprah Winfrey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, the rapper took to Instagram to apologize. \u201cTwo wrongs don\u2019t make no right,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen you\u2019re wrong, you gotta fix it.\u201d Snoop Dogg admitted that he treated King \u201cin a derogatory manner based off emotions\u201d and that he \u201coverreacted.\u201d \u201cI was raised way better than that,\u201d he said. \u201cSo, I would like to apologize to you publicly for the language that I used and calling you out of your name and just being disrespectful.\u201d<\/p>\n
