Wilson on board to adapt \u201cKarn Evil 9\u201d into a screenplay.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Carl Palmer, the lone surviving member of ELP, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elp_carl\/status\/1228437786350379008?s=21\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">confirmed on Twitter<\/a> that a \u201csci-fi movie franchise\u201d based on the band\u2019s 30-minute, three-suite \u201cKarn Evil 9\u201d is in development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">According to Radar Pictures, the studio behind the recent Jumanji reboots, the \u201cKarn Evil 9\u201d film will take place in \u201ca society that has drained all its blood with a dependence on technology.\u201d The movie also \u201cwill explore the world controlled by a pervasive and dictatorial technocracy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe annual \u2018Karn Evil\u2019 \u2014 a macabre rite of passage \u2014 is a young person\u2019s once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience unbridled freedom, before subjugating themselves to the ruling class,\u201d Deadline said of the film\u2019s plot. \u201cWhen people stop returning from their Karn Evil experience, fear drives a revolution to topple the status quo and the artificial intelligence discovered at its heart.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Producer Ted Field added in a statement, \u201cThe visionary world that ELP created with their recording \u2018Karn Evil 9\u2019&nbsp;is much closer to reality today.
