I\u2019ve been to the moon and back without a rocket, but also to the depths of despair. You never stop paying your dues. Failure has been my greatest inspiration. I brush myself off and then I want to \u2018do it again.\u2019 Do You Feel Like I Do?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to a press release, the book will touch upon his work with childhood friend David Bowie, his struggles with substance abuse, the \u201cblessing and curse\u201d of his breakthrough album <em>Frampton Comes Alive!<\/em> and the inflammatory muscle disease that is threatening to end his career as a live performer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-954572\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/DoYouFeelLikeIDo_HC.jpg\" alt width=\"450\" height=\"679\"><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeppered throughout his narrative is the story of his favorite guitar, which he thought he\u2019d lost in a plane crash in 1980,\u201d reads a statement. \u201cBut in 2011, it mysteriously showed up again \u2013 saved from the wreckage. Frampton will tell of that unlikely reunion here in full for the first time, and it is emblematic of his life and career as a legendary artist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Frampton launched a farewell tour after announcing he\u2019d been diagnosed with Inclusion-Body Myositis. \u201cIf I\u2019m going to do a farewell tour, I want to play good,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/peter-frampton-degenerative-muscle-disease-ibm-797556\/\">told <em>Rolling Stone<\/em>.<\/a> \u201cI want to rock it. I know that this tour, I will be able to do everything I did last year and the year before. That\u2019s the most important thing to me. I want to go out screaming as opposed to, \u2018He can\u2019t play anymore.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Frampton resumes his farewell tour May 24th at Usher Hall in Edinburgh in the UK.
