{"id":804402,"date":"2020-02-20T09:14:28","date_gmt":"2020-02-20T16:14:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=955451"},"modified":"2020-02-20T09:14:28","modified_gmt":"2020-02-20T16:14:28","slug":"david-bowie-live-lp-im-only-dancing-the-soul-tour-74-set-for-record-store-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/david-bowie-live-lp-im-only-dancing-the-soul-tour-74-set-for-record-store-day\/","title":{"rendered":"David Bowie Live LP \u2018I\u2019m Only Dancing (The Soul Tour 74)\u2019 Set for Record Store Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Bowie-1.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A previously unissued <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/david-bowie\/\" id=\"auto-tag_david-bowie\" data-tag=\"david-bowie\">David Bowie<\/a> live album highlighting the singer\u2019s mid-Seventies work<em>&nbsp;<\/em>is set for Record Store Day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><em>I\u2019m Only Dancing (The Soul Tour 74)<\/em>, featuring segments of a pair of concerts from that trek, bridges the gap between 1974\u2019s <em>Diamond Dogs<\/em> and 1975\u2019s <em>Young Americans.<\/em>&nbsp;Bowie\u2019s site <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidbowie.com\/blog\/2020\/2\/19\/im-only-dancing-for-record-store-day-2020\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> the release Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Previous Bowie live albums from the 1974 tour \u2014 1974\u2019s <em>David Live<\/em> and the 2017 reissue <em>Cracked Actor (Live Los Angeles \u201974)<\/em> \u2014 were recorded prior to the <em>I\u2019m Only Dancing<\/em> concerts, which featured a more soul music focus as well as the Mick Garson Band backing Bowie.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The bulk of <em>I\u2019m Only Dancing<\/em> is taken from an October 20th, 1974 gig at Detroit\u2019s Michigan Palace, with three tracks from a Nashville concert on November 30th, 1974. The live album will available as both 2 CDs and 2 LPs on Record Store Day, April 18th. The LP\u2019s artwork mirrors the original design for the programs from the two gigs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In addition to <em>I\u2019m Only Dancing (The Soul Tour 74)<\/em>, Record Store Day will also include a reissue of the <em>ChangesNowBowie<\/em> compilation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\"><em>I\u2019m Only Dancing (The Soul Tour 74)<\/em>&nbsp;Track List<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">1.
