Newly crowned heavyweight boxing<\/a> champion Tyson Fury led a singalong of Don McLean<\/a>\u2019s \u201cAmerican Pie\u201d during an in-ring post-fight interview soon after his much-anticipated rematch with Deontay Wilder.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI said I\u2019d sing a song tonight, didn\u2019t I?\u201d Fury, surrounded by his team of trainers, told the sold-out crowd at Las Vegas\u2019 MGM Grand Garden Arena during his post-fight interview. \u201cSing along if you know the words.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The British-born boxer known as \u201cThe Gypsy King\u201d then took the interviewer\u2019s microphone and (ably!) lead the arena through a two-minute sing-along rendition of McLean\u2019s 1971 classic about \u201cThe Day the Music Died.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Fury has serenaded \u201cAmerican Pie\u201d to an unsuspecting audience: YouTube boasts a handful of Fury\u2019s impromptu \u201cAmerican Pie\u201d performances, including during a post-fight presser<\/a> following his first fight with Wilder in December 2018, before a weigh-in<\/a> and at parties<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s not just Don McLean that gets Fury singing: As Rolling Stone<\/em> reported back in 2015<\/a>, following a victory over Wladimir Klitschko, he sang Aerosmith\u2019s \u201cI Don\u2019t Want to Miss a Thing<\/a>\u201d to his wife in the ring.<\/span><\/p>\n
