Less than a week after telling fans to \u201cnot expect anything<\/a>\u201d regarding future concerts, Neil Young<\/a> has announced plans to take Crazy Horse on a tour across America. There are no dates yet, but the tour will hit vintage arenas and bypass newer ones completely.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMany of the old places were used to play are gone now,\u201d Young wrote on the Neil Young Archives<\/a> Sunday, \u201creplaced by new coliseums we have to book [a] year in advance and we don\u2019t want to anyway. That\u2019s not the way we like to play\u2026 so we have decided to play the old arenas \u2013 not the new sports facilities put up by corporations for their sports teams. Largely soulless, these new buildings cost a fortune to play in.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to play in a couple of months because we feel like it,\u201d he continued. \u201cTo us it\u2019s not a regular job. We don\u2019t like the new rules.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Young then listed now-demolished arenas in the country and still-standing old one, even if some of those \u2013 like Madison Square Garden and the Nassau Coliseum \u2013 have been totally renovated. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf you are looking for us on our Crazy Horse Barn Tour,\u201d he concludes, \u201cwe will hopefully be in one of the existing arenas. Hope to see you there. News coming pretty soon!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Young\u2019s preemptive Crazy Horse tour announcement comes just days after Young responded<\/a> to a fan letter on the Neil Young Archives that, \u201cI am not focused on playing. I am taking care of my music,\u201d noting the busy 2020 release schedule that tentatively includes the unreleased 1975 LP Homegrown<\/em>, a movie-album chronicling his 2003-04 Greendale tour with Crazy Horse and the long-awaited Archives Volume 2<\/em> box set.<\/span><\/p>\n
