In a new interview with Zane Lowe, Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> revealed that Ordinary<\/em><\/a> Man<\/em><\/a> \u2014 his first solo LP in a decade \u2014 is the first album he\u2019s made completely sober.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it was the drugs and the alcohol that made it all work,\u201d he told Lowe. \u201cBut it\u2019s not true. All I was doing for years is self-medicating \u2019cause I didn\u2019t like the way I felt. But then this is the first album I\u2019ve co-wrote and recorded fucking completely sober.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Godfather of Heavy Metal released his reunion album<\/a> with Black Sabbath<\/a> in 2013 and has been sober for seven years. \u201cThe last album, I wrote some of it stoned,\u201d he admits. \u201cI quite like being sober now. \u2018Cause at least I can remember the fucking thing I did yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the clip above, Osbourne and Lowe reflect on late musicians who made legendary music, including Alice in Chains\u2019 Layne Staley and Linkin Parks\u2019 Chester Bennington. \u201cBut then, why am I here?\u201d he asks Lowe. \u201cChris Cornell was a great, great singer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not being funny and I\u2019m not being cocky, I can remember times when I\u2019ve fucking woke up with puke down me,\u201d he says. \u201cI\u2019ve fucking woke up with a bed full of blood, when I\u2019ve fallen down and banged my head or whatever. My friend John Bonham, I used to go drinking with him. He died. Bon Scott, he died. I don\u2019t know what to fuckin\u2019 say.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople go, \u2018You must have the Midas touch\u2019 or whatever,\u201d he continues. \u201cI\u2019m lucky. I wasn\u2019t any better than any of them. I even fucking would go so far as to say I was worse in some cases. But it\u2019s the luck of the draw. Seventy-one and I don\u2019t fucking understand how I got there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Osbourne released Ordinary Man<\/em> earlier this month, featuring Elton John, Slash, Tom Morello and Post Malone. In a recent interview<\/a> with Good Morning America<\/em>, the singer revealed he was diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s Disease. \u201cI feel better now that I\u2019ve owned up to the fact that I have a case of Parkinson\u2019s,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I just hope [my fans] hang on and they\u2019re there for me because I need them.\u201d<\/p>\n
