Following their North American tour last summer, Judas Priest<\/a> have announced a 50th anniversary tour, titled 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour.<\/p>\n

The band \u2014 which formed in Birmingham, England, in 1970 \u2014 will kick off the tour at MGM National Harbor in Maryland on September 9th. They\u2019ll hit major cities, including the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on September 15th and the HEB Center in Austin, Texas, on October 5th. They\u2019ll conclude in Las Vegas on October 17th.<\/p>\n

\u201cJudas Priest are primed and ready to deliver the goods with our 50 Heavy Metal Years anniversary celebration stage show spectacular!\u201d the band said in a statement. \u201cPerforming a blistering cross-section of songs from our lives in metal \u2014 we can\u2019t wait to raise horns with you again at this once in a metal lifetime event!\u201d<\/p>\n

Judas Priest released their eighteenth LP, Firepower<\/em><\/a>, in 2018. \u201cIt\u2019s a reference to the power of metal,\u201d lead singer Rob Halford told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> of the record. \u201cFirepower is the great worldwide cause of the heavy-metal community \u2014 the firepower of metal. It\u2019s inspiration. It\u2019s hope. It\u2019s overcoming difficulties. It\u2019s a metaphor for winning and overcoming evil.\u201d<\/p>\n
