The Italian Renaissance comes to life in \u201cThanks for the Dance,\u201d the title track to Leonard Cohen<\/a>\u2019s posthumous LP<\/a>, released last fall.<\/p>\n

Directed by photographer Harley Weir, the clip features Girl Meets World<\/em> actress Rowan Blanchard as a bride, slowly sliding down a grassy hill with her silk veil trailing behind her. Model Lily Cole later appears as Sandro Botticelli\u2019s The Birth of Venus<\/em>, her red curly hair surrounding her as she poses with three infants. \u201cThere is a rose in your hair\/Your shoulders are bare,\u201d the late legend sings over stripped-down guitar. \u201cYou\u2019ve been wearing this costume forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

The clip is the latest in a series titled Nowness<\/a>, a collaboration between Cohen\u2019s estate and Sony Music Canada in which artists interpret tracks from Thanks for the Dance. <\/em>The video released on Tuesday follows \u201cHappen to the Heart.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a huge fan of Leonard Cohen,\u201d Weir said in a statement. \u201cHis lyrics are so raw and yet so warm. I am honored to be a part of his legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thanks for the Dance<\/em> features Beck, the National\u2019s Bryce Dessner, Arcade Fire\u2019s Richard Reed Parry, Feist and more. It arrived three years after Cohen\u2019s death<\/a> in November 2016 and was produced by Cohen\u2019s son Adam, who also worked on You Want It Darker.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n
