Justin Timberlake<\/a> and SZA<\/a> have released a new song from the Trolls<\/a> World Tour<\/em><\/a> soundtrack, and while that might not inspire much hope, the song is very good. It\u2019s called \u201cThe Other Side,\u201d and is a funky, upbeat single that, like much of the soundtrack, was written by Timberlake alongside producer Ludwig G\u00f6ransson.<\/p>\n

JT and SZA<\/a> both star in the music video for \u201cThe Other Side,\u201d released on Wednesday, which pays homage to classic Hype Williams hip-hop videos from the Nineties. The fisheye lens, the silver bodysuits, the sci-fi industrial rooms that don\u2019t seem to belong to a particular time or place \u2014 it\u2019s all here, and it\u2019s done wonderfully.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was so thrilled to be invited to participate in this project with Justin,\u201d SZA said in a statement. \u201cThe creative process of working with him and the team was filled with such excitement. It\u2019s an energy you can feel in both the song and music video. I can\u2019t wait for people to check it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Timberlake added: \u201cIt has been such a fun process writing and executive producing for this project. Being able to bring together different creatives from various disciplines and genres has been the most rewarding part. Creating something that serves the movie while still being able to exist apart from it has been a fun challenge that was made even more exciting by working with the other amazing artists that helped us put this together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aside from the Trolls<\/em> soundtrack, Timberlake most recently collaborated with Meek Mill on the single \u201cBelieve.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

SZA appeared on the cover<\/a> of the March Women\u2019s Issue of Rolling Stone<\/em>, alongside Normani<\/a> and Megan Thee Stallion<\/a>.<\/p>\n
