{"id":804684,"date":"2020-02-27T13:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-02-27T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/?p=379683"},"modified":"2020-02-27T13:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-02-27T20:00:00","slug":"safe2tell-reports-23-increase-in-tips-this-school-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/local-news\/safe2tell-reports-23-increase-in-tips-this-school-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Safe2Tell reports 23% increase in tips this school year"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/05\/PublicSafetyWebCard-SDN-1024x638.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>Colorado\u2019s anonymous tip line for parents and students continues to grow, according to state officials.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Safe2Tell released its <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"mid-year report (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.safe2tell.org\/sites\/default\/files\/u113\/19.20_midyearsummary.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">midyear report<\/a>, which shows that the hotline has received more than 13,600 tips this year, a 23% increase over the 2018-19 school year.<\/p>\n<p>The program received 2,154 tips last month, a 17% increase from January 2019. Suicide threats (415), drugs (180) and bullying (147) continue to be the top categories of tips reported.<\/p>\n<p>Safe2Tell is an anonymous program for students or others to report threats to their own or others\u2019 safety. Once a tip is made, it\u2019s distributed to local law enforcement, school officials and other appropriate parties to respond.<\/p>\n<p>To make a report, individuals can call 877-542-7233.
