Drake<\/a> dropped his first two solo songs of 2020 with the late-night arrival of \u201cWhen to Say When\u201d and \u201cChicago Freestyle,\u201d with the rapper unveiling both tracks in one music video.<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cWhen to Say When\u201d half of the video, directed by Theo Skudra, shows Drake providing a visual tour of Brooklyn, while \u201cChicago Freestyle\u201d takes fans into the rapper\u2019s Toronto mansion dubbed \u201cthe Embassy.\u201d <\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Both tracks pay tribute to fellow rappers: The Brooklyn-set \u201cWhen to Say When\u201d features a sample of \u201cSong Cry\u201d by the borough\u2019s Jay-Z \u2014 Drake even visits that rapper\u2019s stomping ground Marcy Projects in the video \u2014 and \u201cChicago Freestyle\u201d finds Drake lifting an entire verse from Eminem\u2019s The Eminem Show<\/em> track \u201cSuperman,\u201d which tackled similar subject matter.<\/span><\/p>\n

The four-minute music video presents abridged versions of both songs; the full-length tracks were soon uploaded to Soundcloud (but not streaming services):<\/span><\/p>\n

The two songs mark Drake\u2019s first solo songs of 2020: The rapper previously partnered with Future for a pair of tracks, \u201cLife Is Good<\/a>\u201d and \u201cDesires<\/a>.\u201d In a December interview<\/a>, Drake stated he\u2019d release an album in 2020, but it\u2019s unclear whether \u201cWhen to Say When\u201d and \u201cChicago Freestyle\u201d are LP tracks or one-off singles.<\/span><\/p>\n
