Gilberto\u2019s voice easily drifts over the production, but there\u2019s often a sharp kick to her phrasing to counterbalance the engrossing instrumentals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Gilberto recorded <i>Agora<\/i> with producer Thomas Bartlett and made the album after several personal tragedies, including the deaths of her parents, legendary Brazilian musicians <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/joao-gilberto-bossa-nova-pioneer-obituary-856164\/\">Jo\u00e3o Gilberto<\/a> and Mi\u00facha.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI have gone through a lot while we were writing and recording this album,\u201d Gilberto said in a statement. \u201cI lost my best friend, then six months later my mom and then six months after that my dad. It was very hard for me and still is. I took a different approach with <i>Agora<\/i>, supported by the love and confidence I received from my long-time friend and producer of the album, Thomas Bartlett. Thomas trusted me \u2014 and let me be me.
