Before reuniting Bikini Kill in 2019, Kathleen Hanna<\/a> pulled together members of her other band, Le Tigre<\/a>, to throw their support behind Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton<\/a> in 2016. \u201cI\u2019m with her\/To the top\/She\u2019s with us \/We won\u2019t stop,\u201d Hanna sang, decked out in a red pantsuit.<\/p>\n

In case you really can\u2019t recall what was happening in 2016 the month before the election, tensions were reaching a high between Trump supporters and those in Clinton\u2019s camp. The song dropped October 19th, less than a month before the election. And we all know how that turned out.<\/p>\n

The video was a campy affair, featuring pictures of cats (a nod to Trump\u2019s \u201cgrab \u2018em by the pussy\u201d statements), Trump protests, and members of the band dancing. \u201cShe doesn\u2019t bake cookies, doesn\u2019t play much golf\/And the whole world is watching her persistent cough\/Pass the wicked witch a glass of water\/Careful not to spill it, you might melt the Donald,\u201d Hanna sings, tongue firmly in cheek.<\/p>\n

Some fans looked askance at riot grrrl Hanna and Co. for taking such a blatantly political stance, but looking back on the song now, Hanna tells Rolling Stone<\/em>: \u201cI just feel like, look back at it. How happy is everybody that Trump is in the White House now? You know what I mean? Like, \u2018You\u2019re still giving me shit about that?\u2019 I mean, look what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for who she\u2019s backing this time around, Hanna has her eye on Elizabeth Warren, who is facing off on Super Tuesday against the likes of Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders. \u201cI really believe in [Elizabeth] Warren; I would love to see her win,\u201d she says. \u201cI just want Warren to get a bus that has some cool slogan, like Biden has \u2018No Malarkey.\u2019 The only thing I like about Biden is how he says these grandpa sayings. I love malarkey and chutzpah and moxie and all that stuff. I keep thinking he\u2019s going to be like, \u2018I\u2019m going to do fisticuffs on you.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n

Hanna and Bikini Kill are heading out on tour<\/a> this month for an extensive international run. Meanwhile, Clinton\u2019s Hulu docuseries<\/a> hits streaming on March 6th. She\u2019s also set to headline<\/a> a two-day series of live interviews titled \u201cConversations About America\u2019s Future\u201d at South by Southwest.<\/p>\n
