The concert, which features support from Cracker, will take place at the Wiltern on April 25th.<\/p>\n<p>The group will also be joining the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/violent-femmes\/\" id=\"auto-tag_violent-femmes\" data-tag=\"violent-femmes\">Violent Femmes<\/a> for a co-headlining tour that kicks off on May 28th. The dates focus on the Midwest and the East Coast.<\/p>\n<p>The members of X reflected on their history in an in-depth <em>Rolling Stone <\/em>article in 2017. Regarding the song \u201cLos Angeles,\u201d vocalist-bassist John Doe said he based the track\u2019s edgy lyrics on the life of a friend of his who had moved to London and had a nervous breakdown. He just changed the locale to X\u2019s hometown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019d just gotten fed up with it,\u201d he said. \u201cShe had lived there for a couple of years and she became more and more racist and stereotyping people. And to be honest there was a lot of shock value intended in the lyrics. I wanted to show the dark side or underbelly of Los Angeles. People like Dashiell Hammett, James M. Cain and Nathaniel West did \u2014 the Doors did it \u2014 so it was time for an update.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Late last year, X released their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/x-delta-88-nightmare-898794\/\">first new video in years<\/a>&nbsp;for \u201cDelta 88 Nightmare,\u201d a bonus track that came out on the 2001 reissue of <em>Los Angeles<\/em>. The clips was directed by singer Exene Cervenka\u2019s son, Henry Mortensen, and starred both Mortensen and Cervenka\u2019s niece, Carolyn Allen.
