An upcoming documentary on the shop, titled <em>Other Music<\/em>, will hit theaters in April during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/record-store-day\/\" id=\"auto-tag_record-store-day\" data-tag=\"record-store-day\">Record Store Day<\/a> weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Puloma Basu and Rob Hatch-Miller, the trailer features <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/jason-schwartzman\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jason-schwartzman\" data-tag=\"jason-schwartzman\">Jason Schwartzman<\/a>, Janeane Garofalo, Regina Spektor, Depeche Mode\u2019s Martin Gore, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/the-national\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-national\" data-tag=\"the-national\">the National<\/a>\u2019s Matt Berninger and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/tv-on-the-radio\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tv-on-the-radio\" data-tag=\"tv-on-the-radio\">TV on the Radio<\/a>\u2019s Tunde Adebimpe discussing what the store meant to them and what it was like being there. \u201cIf I am completely honest, I was never just chill in there,\u201d Spektor admits. \u201cI always got that first day of school feeling, like \u2018OK, don\u2019t fuck up.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/394019069\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen>[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Also included are vintage in-store clips of Vampire Weekend, the National and Neutral Milk Hotel, who in 1996 performed their first-ever live performance of \u201cTwo-Headed Boy\u201d from 1998\u2019s <em>In the Aeroplane Over the Sea<\/em>. \u201cThere shouldn\u2019t have been an intimidation factor, but there was,\u201d Schwartzman tells the camera. \u201cI mean, I\u2019m not the first person to say that, right?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Factory 25, a Brooklyn-based film and music label, acquired the rights to the documentary. It will open at the IFC in Manhattan on April 15th and will screen at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.othermusicdocumentary.com\/screenings\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">select theaters<\/a> on April 18th \u2014 the weekend of Record Store Day 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur documentary is about the importance of people getting together in a physical space to share and celebrate music and all other types of art,\u201d the directors said in a statement. \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to have our documentary be part of the Factory 25 catalog in the company of great filmmakers like Alex Ross Perry.
