While performing an intimate acoustic show as Brothers of a Feather<\/a>, the Black Crowes<\/a>\u2019 Chris and Rich Robinson<\/a> were joined by Peter Buck<\/a> for a cover of R.E.M.\u2019s \u201c7 Chinese Bros.\u201d in Portland on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

They performed the song, off 1984\u2019s Reckoning<\/em>, during the duo\u2019s encore. Rich and Buck plucked their acoustic guitars simultaneously, as Chris stood beside them holding the mike. \u201cWrap your heel in bones of steel,\u201d he sings. \u201cTurn the leg, a twist of color.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ahead of their massive Black Crowes reunion tour<\/a>, the Robinsons launched their under-the-radar Birds of a Feather trek on February 12th in London.<\/a> They\u2019ll wrap up on Friday at the Chapel in San Francisco. The Robinsons are set to appear at the Love Rocks NYC<\/a> benefit at Manhattan\u2019s Beacon Theater on March 12th, alongside Jackson Browne, Dave Matthews and Cyndi Lauper.<\/p>\n

The 46-date reunion tour will kick off this summer, honoring the 30th anniversary of their debut Shake Your Money Maker<\/em>. They\u2019ll stop in major North American cities, including two consecutive nights at Nashville\u2019s Ascend Amphitheatre on July 7th and 8th. The trek will conclude at the Forum in Los Angeles on September 19th.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think this is pure,\u201d Chris recently told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> of the reunion, in the brothers\u2019 first joint interview in decades. \u201cWe went off into a lot of things. There\u2019s no jamming. There\u2019s no extraneous stuff. This is the purest Black Crowes that people first [heard]\u2026 I hope we reconnect with some people who lost their way with us because of all of our other shit we were doing.\u201d<\/p>\n
