Titled <em>Motorcycle Drive By<\/em>, the film will focus on the band\u2019s song <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=RZ8wVKPUN_g\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">by the same name.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Released on their 1997 self-titled debut \u2014 which included the hits \u201cSemi-Charmed Life\u201d and \u201cHow\u2019s It Going to Be\u201d \u2014 \u201cMotorcycle Drive By\u201d almost wasn\u2019t included on the record due to label concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by David Wexler, the short film will trace the backstory of the song and highlight how it miraculously became a fan favorite, arguably one of their most popular songs. A performance by frontman Stephan Jenkins will follow the premiere.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt never had anything,\u201d Jenkins says of the song\u2019s history in the film. \u201cThe only thing that has kept it alive and vibrant\u2026is you guys.\u201d When asked about the track\u2019s meaning, he adds: <span class>\u201cThe object of your desire doesn\u2019t love you back. <\/span><span class>That urge to live, that urge to connect, even when it\u2019s unreciprocated, is redemptive.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On March 11th, Third Eye Blind will embark on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/third-eye-blind-2020-tour-dates-923457\/\">Screamer Tour Part 2<\/a>, the second trek in support of their album <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/third-eye-blind-fall-tour-screamer-872851\/\"><em>Screamer<\/em><\/a>, released last fall. Saves the Day will serve as their musical guest.<\/p>\n<p>Documentaries on Brian Wilson, Ronnie Wood, the Go-Go\u2019s, DMX, Big Freedia and others <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/2020-tribeca-film-festival-brian-wilson-ronnie-wood-961222\/\">will also screen<\/a> at this year\u2019s Tribeca Film Festival, held from April 15th through the 26th.
