Paul McCartney\u2019s handwritten \u201cHey Jude\u201d lyrics, a baseball autographed by all four Beatles and the first stage the Fab Four performed on are among the items in an upcoming Beatles-themed auction<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Julien\u2019s Auctions<\/a> lot features more than 300 Beatles items, including \u201cnever-before-seen memorabilia, guitars and instruments, autographed items, rare vinyl, obscure licensed material, and other rare and collectible artifacts,\u201d the auction house said Friday. The auction will take place on April 10th at New York City\u2019s Hard Rock Cafe.<\/span><\/p>\n

The original stage from the Beatles<\/a>\u2019 first public performance \u2014 a May 14th, 1960 gig where the band is billed as \u201cthe Silver Beats\u201d \u2014 is up for auction with a $10,000-$20,000 estimate. The 19\u20198\u2033 x 9\u201910\u2033 spread of wood planks was taken from Liverpool, England\u2019s Lathom Hall, \u201cthe scene of the infamous fight involving original bass player Stu Sutcliffe,\u201d according to the auction house.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis stage of the Fab Four\u2019s first performance is not only one of the most extraordinary artifacts ever to come to market from Beatles history, but all of music history,\u201d Julien\u2019s Auctions\u2019 Martin Nolan said in a statement. \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to offer this remarkable and unique piece that set the stage for the auspicious start of the greatest rock \u2018n\u2019 roll band of all time as well as these other incredible and significant items that celebrate the magic of Beatlemania.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the other notable items include the lyric sheet McCartney used while recording \u201cHey Jude\u201d at London\u2019s Trident Studios in 1968; that item has a pre-auction estimate of $160,000 to $180,000. A baseball autographed by all four Beatles following their final U.S. concert at San Francisco\u2019s Candlestick Park is expected to get bids in the $100,000 range.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other items include Ringo Starr\u2019s Abbey Road Studios ashtray, McCartney\u2019s script \u2014 complete with drawings and handwritten notes \u2014 from the \u201cHello, Goodbye\u201d video shoot and John Lennon and Yoko Ono\u2019s \u201cBAGISM\u201d drawing.<\/span><\/p>\n
