The event will begin at 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>Joined by her collaborator Tyler Cole, the 19-year-old will cycle through eight stages of anxiety: paranoia, rage, sadness, numbness, euphoria, strong interest, compassion and acceptance. They\u2019ll spend three hours in each stage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not so that people are like, \u2018Oooh!&#8217;\u201d Smith told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/story\/2020-03-10\/willow-smith-anxiety-moca?utm_source=Breakfast+with+ARTnews&amp;utm_campaign=15ed0118ed-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_11_01_36&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_c5d7f10ceb-15ed0118ed-293990235\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Los Angeles Times<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThis is for awareness. The first thing we\u2019re going to be writing on our title wall is something along the lines of: \u2018The acceptance of one\u2019s fears is the first step toward understanding.\u2019 So then you know this is on something real. This is for a real cause.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The idea to portray 24 hours of anxiety was born while Smith and Cole were making an album \u2014 aptly titled <em>The Anxiety<\/em> \u2014 that they plan on releasing directly after their performance.<\/p>\n<p>The event will take place at the MOCA\u2019s Geffen Contemporary, a former police garage.&nbsp;Visitors will watch the duo through a glass wall at 15-minute intervals. After watching, they\u2019ll be guided into a room with a video feed, where they can make donations to mental health organizations. The event will also stream live.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe understand this is a very sensitive subject,\u201d Smith told <em>The Times<\/em>. She has suffered from anxiety since she was a child. \u201cAnd we don\u2019t want to be like, \u2018Our experience is the experience.\u2019 This is just us expressing our personal experience with this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smith released her third LP, <em>Willow<\/em>, last summer.
