{"id":805121,"date":"2020-03-11T13:40:57","date_gmt":"2020-03-11T19:40:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/?p=380308"},"modified":"2020-03-11T13:40:57","modified_gmt":"2020-03-11T19:40:57","slug":"skier-who-died-at-keystone-identified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/local-news\/skier-who-died-at-keystone-identified\/","title":{"rendered":"Skier who died at Keystone identified"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/05\/PublicSafetyWebCard-SDN-1024x638.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>FRISCO \u2014&nbsp;The skier who <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"passed away at Keystone Ski Resort on Monday (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/sheriffs-office-investigating-skier-death-at-keystone-resort\/\" target=\"_blank\">died Monday at Keystone Resort<\/a> has been identified as 51-year-old Jon Kleve of Lincoln, Nebraska, according to the Summit County Coroner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>At about 3:25 p.m. March 9, the Summit County Sheriff\u2019s Office responded to a report of a male skier found unconscious and not breathing off the side of a run at Keystone. The man was pronounced dead on scene by staff at the Keystone Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>The manner of death has been ruled accidental, and the cause of death is blunt force trauma, according to Amber Flenniken, chief deputy coroner.<\/p>\n<p>Kleve represents the fifth skier death in Summit County this season. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Shirley Louangamath (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/breckenridge-confirms-2-fatal-incidents-at-ski-area-in-past-month\/\" target=\"_blank\">Shirley Louangamath<\/a>, 45, of Leesburg, Virginia, died due to traumatic heart failure due to blunt force trauma at Breckenridge Ski Resort on Jan. 20. Richard Hart, 86, of Littleton, died due to an intracranial hemorrhage due to blunt force trauma at Copper Mountain on March 4.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to deaths resulting from trauma injuries, there also have been two skier deaths caused by cardiac issues. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Martin Chader (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/skier-who-died-at-keystone-has-been-identified\/\" target=\"_blank\">Martin Chader<\/a>, 66, of Golden died due to cardiac related issues Dec. 16 at Keystone.
