Coldplay<\/a> update George Orwell\u2019s Animal Farm<\/em> in the video for \u201cTrouble in Town,\u201d off their double LP Everyday Life<\/em>, released last fall.<\/p>\n

The band brings the satirical classic to the drug-addled streets of New York, where the city is plagued with homelessness and crime under the regime of a pig dictator (undoubtedly a nod to Trump). The 2020 Democratic debates are mocked as pig politicians argue at podiums on a television screen, which soon escalates into a fight.<\/p>\n

A reindeer huddles under a blanket, reading Orwell\u2019s book. A cat steals a beverage in a bodega, just as a fox evades arrest by a cheetah cop. The somber \u201cTrouble in Town\u201d is played in the background, as frontman Chris Martin sings, \u201cAnd I get no shelter, and I get no peace\/And I never get released.\u201d The clip ends with the pig dictator getting into a cab and glaring at the driver.<\/p>\n

Proceeds for the song\u2019s masters and publishing will go toward the Innocence Project, for which frontman Chris Martin is an \u201cInnocence Ambassador<\/a>.\u201d A portion of proceeds will also be donated to a charity, African Children\u2019s Feeding Scheme.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrouble in Town\u201d follows the video for \u201cChampion of the World<\/a>,\u201d a track that featured a songwriting credit from late Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchinson<\/a>. Other videos include \u201cCry Cry Cry<\/a>,\u201d  the title track<\/a>, \u201cDaddy<\/a>\u201d and \u201cOrphans.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Coldplay recently revealed that they would not be promoting Everyday Life<\/em> with a tour<\/a> until carbon-neutral concerts become a possibility.<\/p>\n

Martin recently sat down for a Rolling Stone<\/em> Interview<\/a> with RS<\/em> founder Jann Wenner. \u201cSome people don\u2019t really like what we do, and that\u2019s OK,\u201d Martin said. \u201cGod bless them. There are so many other things to listen to, and why worry about that? This album may sell this many, and we might win this, we might be band of the year or conversely worst band of the year. That\u2019s great, wonderful.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut ultimately,\u201d he added, \u201cMy job, I realize, from seeing Bruce [Springsteen] is to be totally and unashamedly of service to the people that are listening.\u201d<\/p>\n
