Creator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/lin-manuel-miranda\/\" id=\"auto-tag_lin-manuel-miranda\" data-tag=\"lin-manuel-miranda\">Lin-Manuel Miranda<\/a> has released a previously unheard song from the show called \u201cI Have a Friend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The song features Miranda and Christopher Jackson as Alexander Hamilton and George Washington, and sees Hamilton going to the president for advice to deal with the scandal after his affair with Maria Reynolds. According to Miranda, the song was cut from the final production.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWish I could send you peace of mind via this app,\u201d Miranda <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Lin_Manuel\/status\/1238233532977332226\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">wrote on Twitter<\/a>. \u201cAlas. But I can send you music no one\u2019s heard. Here\u2019s a cut Hamilton\/Washington tune called I Have This Friend. No one\u2019s heard it, not even Kail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Soundcloud he added, \u201cThis was my first draft of the song before The Reynolds Pamphlet. With Hamilton &amp; Washington. I don\u2019t think I even showed it to Tommy Kail. It would go where Hurricane is now. Stay safe out there. Love you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week Broadway theaters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/culture\/culture-news\/broadway-theater-close-coronavirus-new-york-966403\/\">closed amid fears<\/a> of the COVID-19 pandemic. All Broadway shows are suspending performances until mid-April, as announced by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
