{"id":805212,"date":"2020-03-13T08:18:01","date_gmt":"2020-03-13T14:18:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=966852"},"modified":"2020-03-13T08:18:01","modified_gmt":"2020-03-13T14:18:01","slug":"deap-lips-drop-colorful-video-for-steppenwolfs-the-pusher-cover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/deap-lips-drop-colorful-video-for-steppenwolfs-the-pusher-cover\/","title":{"rendered":"Deap Lips Drop Colorful Video for Steppenwolf\u2019s \u2018The Pusher\u2019 Cover"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/dl.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Deap Lips \u2014 a collaboration between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/flaming-lips\/\" id=\"auto-tag_flaming-lips\" data-tag=\"flaming-lips\">Flaming Lips<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/deap-vally\/\" id=\"auto-tag_deap-vally\" data-tag=\"deap-vally\">Deap Vally<\/a> \u2014 released their self-titled debut LP Friday, and with it the project\u2019s colorful video for their cover of Steppenwolf\u2019s <em>Easy Rider<\/em> classic \u201cThe Pusher.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Since the Oklahoma City psych-rockers and the Los Angeles rock duo first announced their collaboration in December, the project has released tracks \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/flaming-lips-deap-vally-deap-lips-923210\/\">Hope Hell High<\/a>\u201d and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/flaming-lips-deap-vally-deap-lips-home-thru-hell-935792\/\">Home Thru Hell<\/a>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI can\u2019t remember exactly when I became aware of Deap Vally\u2026 but let\u2019s say it was sometime just before I saw them play,\u201d Wayne Coyne previously said in a statement of the collaboration, which pairs him and the Lips\u2019 Steven Drozd with Deap Vally\u2019s <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards<\/span><span class=\"s1\">. <\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI was in Raleigh visiting with the creator of the World\u2019s Largest Gummy Bear, and so getting to experience Deap Vally was just one more cool thing of many cool things that were happening to me. Deap Vally really rocked the mostly all dude crowd that was there to scream to WolfMother. I met Lindsey that night and we both were glad we met.
