All of Vail Resorts\u2019 North American resorts will close for the rest of the season, according to a Tuesday morning statement from CEO Rob Katz.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have made the decision that all our North American resorts and retail stores will remain closed for the rest of the season,\u201d Katz stated.<\/p>\n

There are only a few exceptions. Breckenridge, Heavenly and Whistler Blackcomb could reopen later in the season, \u201cdepending on snow conditions and the situation at that time with COVID-19,\u201d according to the statement.<\/p>\n

Vail Resorts\u2019 owned and operated lodging properties will close on Friday, March 20, with final check-ins allowed until 4 p.m. Tuesday. Epic Mountain Express, the company\u2019s transportation service, will run through Wednesday, March 18. Both will remain closed until further notice.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur decision to end the season now is evidence of the fast-moving situation involving COVID-19, and it was not an easy one to make as we deeply considered the extended impact it will have on our guests, employees and communities,\u201d Katz said in the statement. \u201cWhile it is incredibly disappointing for our company to mark the end of the season so early, we know it is the most responsible path forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guests can process refunds and credits on pre-purchased lift tickets, lodging, ski and ride school, equipment rentals and more, subject to applicable terms and conditions, using an online form that will be available later today on the company\u2019s resort websites, according to the statement.<\/p>\n
