John Legend<\/a> has dropped a new single, \u201cActions.\u201d The song, which he previewed during his Instagram Live concert<\/a> earlier this week, samples \u201cThe Edge\u201d by David McCallum, which is notably the same track Dr. Dre<\/a> sampled on his 2000 hit \u201cThe Next Episode.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHere I go again\/ With another love song\/ That I wasted,\u201d Legend croons on the upbeat track. \u201cI wanna show my love is strong\/ Make her feel it when I\u2019m home\/ No fakin\u2019\/ No mistakin\u2019.\u201d The chorus hits home the message, with Legend affirming, \u201cActions speak louder than love songs.\u201d<\/p>\n

During his Together at Home concert, performed in support of Global Citizen, Legend confirmed that he has a new album coming this year. \u201cJust so you guys know, I am putting out a new album this year,\u201d Legend said. \u201cEverybody\u2019s home, you need stuff, you need music, you need TV, you need films. You need stuff to entertain you, so I\u2019m going to put some music out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to release some music,\u201d he added. \u201cI don\u2019t know what the schedule going to be like, we\u2019re just going to start putting stuff out. We\u2019re in the process of mixing a lot of the stuff on the record. Luckily, I already wrote and recorded most of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Instagram<\/a>, Legend noted that \u201cActions\u201d will appear on his upcoming release, writing, \u201cNew song from the new album.\u201d Legend\u2019s last album, A Legendary Christmas<\/em>, dropped in 2018. Earlier this year he released \u201cConversations in the Dark,\u201d<\/a> a single written for NBC show This Is Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n
