In this time of self-isolation and social distancing, MTV<\/a> has rebranded its Unplugged<\/a><\/em> program as Unplugged at Home<\/em>, an online series featuring artists performing acoustic sets from their own houses. Wyclef Jean<\/a> delivered the series\u2019 inaugural set Friday, with other artists to be announced in the coming weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wyclef opened his 10-minute set with \u201cIf I Was President,\u201d prefacing the song with an anecdote about how he improvised the track\u2019s debut performance on Chappelle\u2019s Show<\/em> in 2004. Sitting in front of his massive fishtank, the former Fugees singer also played his \u201cGone Til November\u201d and Shakira collaboration \u201cHips Don\u2019t Lie.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Unplugged at Home<\/em> is part of MTV\u2019s #AloneTogether campaign, a social media initiative encouraging young people to practice social distancing in the hope of \u201cflattening the curve\u201d of the coronavirus outbreak.<\/span><\/p>\n

With countless tours and festivals postponing and canceling in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, artists like Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Diplo, Waxahatchee and dozens more have turned to livestreams<\/a> to connect with fans in lieu of live music\u2019s standstill. Rolling Stone<\/em> has also launched its \u201cIn My Room<\/a>\u201d IGTV series, so far featuring Brian Wilson<\/a> and Angelique Kidjo<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
