M.I.A. released a new song titled \u201cOHMNI20209\u201d on her Patreon<\/a> on the 15th anniversary of her debut album Arular<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFree music to get you the fuck up outta bed! Here\u2019s the beginning,\u201d M.I.A. tweeted<\/a> Sunday, announcing the song\u2019s arrival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier this year, M.I.A. launched<\/a> a two-tiered Patreon account \u2014 for $5 or $10 a month \u2014 promising \u201cshort films, clips and video diaries,\u201d unreleased footage from her MATANGI\/MAYA\/M.I.A<\/em> documentary, livestreams, Q&As and new music, which she delivered on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m doing a Patreon, because I make so much stuff and record so many things that aren\u2019t music and don\u2019t fit on other platforms,\u201d M.I.A. wrote in January. \u201cI\u2019m still making music, putting out the 6th album which is nearly finished, on a normal label, same as the others.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

However, \u201cOHMNI20209,\u201d M.I.A.\u2019s first new music since 2017\u2019s AIM<\/em> outtake \u201cP.O.W.A.<\/a>,\u201d was posted in front of the Patreon paywall, allowing non-patrons to check out the four-minute song. The rapper also shared the song\u2019s lyrics on Instagram:<\/span><\/p>\n
