Jon Bon Jovi<\/a> is enlisting fans to help him write a new song, \u201cDo What You Can,\u201d to bring people together amid the coronavirus<\/a> pandemic.<\/p>\n

On Sunday night, the musician shared a video in which he explained the project, saying he\u2019d already written the first verse and chorus, but that he wanted others to fill in the second verse with their stories.<\/p>\n

\u201cTell me what you\u2019re going through,\u201d Bon Jovi said. \u201cTell me how you\u2019re feeling, tell me if you\u2019re hurting. Talk about that high school graduation that\u2019s gonna be canceled, talk about that prom you might just not have, talk about that baby coming that there\u2019s nothing you can do about that, talk about the paycheck you\u2019re losing, talk about being afraid \u2014 looking out your window and wondering what to make of all this. Just remember, we\u2019re gonna get through it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bon Jovi then played the portions of the song he\u2019d written, singing about the surreal scenes of the past few weeks \u2014 \u201cSmall towns are rolling up their sidewalks\/One last paycheck coming through\u201d \u2014 before launching into the uplifting chorus: \u201cWhen you can\u2019t do what you do\/You do what you can\/This ain\u2019t my prayer\/It\u2019s just a thought I\u2019m wanting to send\/Round here we bend but don\u2019t break\/Down here we all understand\/When you can\u2019t do what you do\/You do what you can.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bon Jovi, the band, has already been directly affected by the coronavirus pandemic, with keyboardist David Bryan revealing on Saturday that he\u2019d tested positive for the virus<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ve have been quarantined for a week and will for another week,\u201d Bryan wrote on social media. \u201cAnd when I feel better I\u2019ll get tested again to make sure I\u2019m free of this nasty virus. Please help out each other. This will be over soon\u2026 with the help of every American.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bon Jovi are set to release a new album<\/a>, Bon Jovi 2020<\/i>, on May 15th. A summer tour is expected<\/a> to begin in July if the coronavirus pandemic has been contained enough to allow for touring.<\/p>\n
