{"id":805613,"date":"2020-03-24T10:24:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-24T16:24:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=972219"},"modified":"2020-03-24T10:24:00","modified_gmt":"2020-03-24T16:24:00","slug":"interpols-paul-banks-debuts-dark-new-band-muzz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/interpols-paul-banks-debuts-dark-new-band-muzz\/","title":{"rendered":"Interpol\u2019s Paul Banks Debuts Dark New Band, Muzz"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Muzz_byDrielyS-000485810006.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>The last time we spoke to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/paul-banks\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paul-banks\" data-tag=\"paul-banks\">Paul Banks<\/a>, his band <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/interpol\/\" id=\"auto-tag_interpol\" data-tag=\"interpol\">Interpol<\/a> had put out their sixth album <em>Marauder<\/em>, which was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/interpol-new-album-paul-banks-sobriety-carlos-d-717194\/\">marked by<\/a>&nbsp;\u201cenergy, songcraft and unexpected warmth,\u201d as <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> noted at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Banks has taken those qualities to a new project, Muzz, a trio featuring Josh Kaufman (the producer and multi-instrumentalist in the folk group Bonny Light Horseman) and Matt Barrick (drummer of Jonathan Fire*Eater, the Walkmen and Fleet Foxes\u2019 touring band.)<\/p>\n<p>The band is out with two new songs: \u201cBroken Tamborine,\u201d a somber, meditative, organ-based ballad, and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/muzz.ffm.to\/badfeeling\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Bad Feeling<\/a>\u201d, a spare, expansive singalong. Banks and Kaufman have been friends since they were teenagers, attending high school together before moving to New York City at the same time; Barrick drummed in Banks\u2019 side project with RZA, among other projects.
