Pearl Jam<\/a> document an environmental apocalypse and excoriate Donald Trump on their new song, \u201cQuick Escape.\u201d The track will appear on the band\u2019s upcoming album, Gigaton<\/i>, which arrives this Friday, March 27th.<\/p>\n

\u201cQuick Escape\u201d is a delirious hard rocker complete with heavy drums, screeching guitars and a piledriver of a bass line. Eddie Vedder presides over the controlled chaos with a voice that crackles with distortion as he narrates a sci-fi story about a devastated planet \u2014 \u201cThe lengths we had to go to then\/To find a place Trump hadn\u2019t fucked up yet\u201d \u2014 that ends with humanity taking a bitter one-way flight to start life again on Mars.<\/p>\n

\u201cQuick Escape\u201d marks the third offering from Gigaton<\/i>, following \u201cDance of the Clairvoyants\u201d<\/a> and \u201cSuperblood Wolfmoon.\u201d<\/a> Gigaton <\/i>marks Pearl Jam\u2019s 11th album and first of all-new material since 2013\u2019s Lightning Bolt<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Pearl Jam was supposed to preview Gigaton<\/em> Thursday, March 25th, with a special one-night-only audio-visual event<\/a> in movie theaters around the country, but that has been postponed<\/a> because of the coronavirus pandemic. The band also called off their North American tour dates<\/a> in support of the album, but plan to reschedule them at a later date.<\/p>\n

For those in need of a quick Pearl Jam fix, though, the band recently opened a hotline<\/a> (585-20-PEARL) that fans can call for the chance to hear a preview of additional songs from Gigaton<\/i>.<\/p>\n
