Movie theaters across the nation are shut down, the box office is non-existent, and the year\u2019s biggest summer blockbusters have been delayed. These desperate times clearly call for a music video maven to chart a path forward for cinema in its darkest hour. Either that, or he\u2019ll lob up a 10-minute distraction.<\/p>\n<p>Depending upon who you ask, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/dababy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DaBaby\u2019s<\/a> video for \u201cFind My Way\u201d is either a long music video or a very brief film. Directed by the Reel Goats, \u201cFind My Way\u201d is ambitious in scope compared to your average music video, which is a hallmark of DaBaby\u2019s entire music video oeuvre. \u201cI paid for every video I ever shot,\u201d he told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/dababy-baby-of-the-year-901697\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> in 2019. \u201c$100,000 budget, $70,000, $60,000, I\u2019ve probably spent like half a million dollars on videos this year, by myself, just me. I ain\u2019t willing to settle for less. With the type of artist that I\u2019m capable of being, the creativity I\u2019ve got, it\u2019s just no way. You can\u2019t cheat it. You can\u2019t cheat the game. You can\u2019t cheat the grind. You get out what you put in at the end of the day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the love story of Bonnie and Clyde isn\u2019t the freshest historical content to mine in 2020. Between Eminem\u2019s \u201c\u201997 Bonnie &amp; Clyde,\u201d Jay-Z and Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s \u201c\u201903 Bonnie &amp; Clyde,\u201d G-Eazy and Halsey\u2019s \u201cHim and I\u201d (on which the Bay Area rapper dubbing his then-relationship the \u201c2017 Bonnie and Clyde\u201d), humanity could take a break from ever mentioning this criminal duo again. It also doesn\u2019t help that DaBaby and his Bonnie, comedian BSimone, make some amateur robbery mistakes through the short film \u2014 both robbers let their victims see their faces and refuse to wear gloves.
