Titled \u201cLockdown Blues,\u201d the track was inspired by being in quarantine during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/coronavirus\/\" id=\"auto-tag_coronavirus\" data-tag=\"coronavirus\">coronavirus<\/a> pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/covid-19\/\" id=\"auto-tag_covid-19\" data-tag=\"covid-19\">Covid-19<\/a> Lockdown Blues\/The only way out is through,\u201d singer Elias R\u00f8nnenfelt sings over searing guitar. \u201cConfined domestic quarantine\/How the itching for lost touch is deafening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Proceeds from the song on <a href=\"https:\/\/iceage.bandcamp.com\/track\/lockdown-blues\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Bandcamp<\/a> will go directly toward <a href=\"https:\/\/donate.doctorswithoutborders.org\/onetime-msf.cfm?source=ADD200U0U00&amp;utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_campaign=googlepaid&amp;utm_content=brand&amp;gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgLuj3d7C6AIV8P_jBx0ZRQmoEAAYASAAEgJ8DPD_BwE\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Doctors Without Borders<\/a> (M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res) an organization that provides medical aid around the globe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve felt the urge to touch base now that the physical touch has been suspended and contribute an effort to raise spirits in the face of adversity,\u201d the Danish quartet said in a statement. \u201cOur thoughts are with all those in jeopardy to the many various horrors in relation to the crisis, those situated on the front lines and those who are direly compromised.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The band recently recommended <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B-XTGn0jaDB\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">five books to read<\/a> while in quarantine, which included Toni Morrison\u2019s <em>The Bluest Eye<\/em> and Gregory Corso\u2019s <em>The Happy Birthday of Death.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Iceage\u2019s last LP was 2018\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/iceage-recruit-sky-ferreira-for-pain-killer-detail-new-album-beyondless-198290\/\"><em>Beyondless<\/em><\/a>, which featured Sky Ferreira on the song \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B-XTGn0jaDB\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Pain Killer.<\/a>\u201d Last summer, the band appeared at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/iceage-john-cale-korean-demilitarized-zone-844377\/\">DMZ Peace Train<\/a> \u2014 a festival held at the Korean Demilitarized Zone near the border of North and South Korea \u2014 alongside John Cale.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/iceage-lockdown-blues-quarantine-single-977417\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Rolling Stone<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Iceage have dropped a new single for these dark times.
