Drake<\/a> had fans grooving early to his new song \u201cToosie Slide\u201d prior to its official release on Thursday at midnight, thanks to its instructional nature and dancers Toosie<\/a>, Hiii Key<\/a> and Ayo<\/a> & Teo<\/a> \u2014 who premiered a clip of the song and dance on social media earlier in the week.<\/p>\n

\u201cGotta dance, but it\u2019s really on some street shit\/I\u2019ma show you how to get it,\u201d Drake raps on the hook. \u201cIt go right foot up, left foot slide\/Left foot up, right foot slide\/Basically I\u2019m saying either way we \u2019bout to slide.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an interview with Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>, the dancers who made the song go viral before its release said they were originally supposed to appear in the song\u2019s official video, but the coronavirus pandemic changed the plan. The viral video clip features raw footage they sent to Drake after he reached out to them.<\/p>\n

\u201cDrake hit me up and was like, \u2018Yo, I need your help,’\u201d Toosie told Rolling Stone<\/em>. \u201cSo he sends the record. It was just an idea at the time. It was just the hook and a verse. I came up with this dance. [Drake said,] \u2018What you think? You think you can come up with a dance for this song that I made?\u2019 So I sit down, listen to it. Luckily, I\u2019m at Ayo and Teo\u2019s house with Hiii Key and all of us. We all chilling. We came up with it pretty fast. We just all pieced it together. We all contributed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Drake recently dropped his first two 2020 solo tracks, \u201cWhen to Say When\u201d and \u201cChicago Freestyle.\u201d<\/a> He also teamed up with Lil Yachty for \u201cOprah\u2019s Bank Account<\/a>,\u201d which also features DaBaby.<\/p>\n
