Fifty-four tests have come back positive, 85 have been negative and there are currently 36 pending tests. The county has reported that the total number of tests will not add up to 159 because some residents are being tested outside the county. Thirty-one hospitalizations were reported in the county\u2019s update, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/7-new-coronavirus-cases-bring-summit-county-total-to-50\/\">up one since Saturday\u2019s report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The county is also reporting case demographics by breaking the positive cases down by age and gender. So far, patients ages 50-59 make up 19% of positive cases while ages 20-29 and 30-39 each make up 17% of cases, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.co.summit.co.us\/1306\/Coronavirus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">report<\/a><i class=\"fas fa-external-link-alt\"><\/i>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The county has continuously stressed that the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 does not represent the actual spread of the virus in the community as testing is being prioritized for first responders, health care providers and those who are \u201cmoderately or severely ill.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<div class=\"row sd-donation sd-donation-mobile p-0\">\n<div class=\"col-xl-4 p-2\">\n<div data-bg=\"url(https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/SDN-logo-white-1.png)\" class=\"p-0 mt-2 mb-2 h-75 text-center rocket-lazyload\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/SDN-logo-white-1.png\" class=\"logo m-0 p-0 invisible\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-bg=\"url(https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/sdn-banner-paypal.jpg)\" class=\"col-xl-8 p-3 text-center rocket-lazyload\">\n<h3 class=\"d-inline mr-3\">Support Local Journalism<\/h3>\n<p><button class=\"btn d-inline\" type=\"button\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/donate\/?utm_source=article&amp;utm_medium=website&amp;utm_campaign=donation&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=mid-article\">Donate<\/a><\/button><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe have reason to believe that the number of individuals with COVID-19 is much higher,\u201d the county webpage states.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To attempt to track the spread of the virus despite limited testing capabilities, the county has put out a <a href=\"https:\/\/datastudio.google.com\/u\/0\/reporting\/1FZEuQfsBPdHjikFNL_NC-UHkfIDISrrs\/page\/UdJJB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">symptom tracker<\/a><i class=\"fas fa-external-link-alt\"><\/i> online. Anyone in the county who has experienced since March 1 symptoms of respiratory illness or other COVID-19 symptoms \u2014 cough, fever, sore throat, headache, muscle aches and shortness of breath \u2014 is asked to document this in the symptom tracker.
