He wants to form new relationships but finds it difficult to make those bonds from the ground up: \u201cI want new friends, but they don\u2019t want me\/They\u2019re making plans while I watch TV.\u201d On the bridge, Casablancas references his ex-wife and former Strokes assistant manager Juliet Joslin; the two divorced last year.<\/p>\n<p><em>The New Abnormal<\/em> will be the Strokes\u2019 sixth studio album, and their first in seven years, following 2013\u2019s <em>Comedown Machine<\/em>. The band has released two prior singles, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/the-strokes-bad-decisions-video-954269\/\">\u201cBad Decisions\u201d<\/a> and \u201cAt the Door,\u201d both of which they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/the-strokes-new-songs-album-release-date-bernie-sanders-950684\/\">premiered<\/a> during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-live-reviews\/strokes-bernie-sanders-new-hampshire-primary-951081\/\">high-profile performance<\/a> at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/bernie-sanders\">Bernie Sanders<\/a> rally in Durham, New Hampshire.<\/p>\n<p>The concert, which followed a rally that included speeches from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Dr. Cornel West, helped raise more than $100,000 for the Sanders presidential campaign, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/news\/2020\/02\/inside-the-building-of-bernies-grass-roots-celebrity-army\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">according to&nbsp;<em>Vanity Fair<\/em><\/a>. It also attracted controversy over Casablancas\u2019 interaction with a police officer onstage during the song \u201cNew York City Cops.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was not on our setlist,\u201d Casablancas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-live-reviews\/strokes-bernie-sanders-new-hampshire-primary-951081\/\">told <em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThe cops had turned the lights on, so we were like, \u2018Let\u2019s just play \u201cNew York City Cops,\u201d then, as a farewell.\u2019 One of them grabbed my arm.
