Sure, why not!<\/p>\n<p>The song begins with the announcement, \u201cGive it up for Rita Wilson!\u201d and escalates from there, with Wilson\u2019s performance woven through the original track. Naughty by Nature are as surprised as you are that this exists; they were sent the video Wilson recorded while recovering from the novel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/coronavirus\/\" id=\"auto-tag_coronavirus\" data-tag=\"coronavirus\">coronavirus<\/a> with husband Tom Hanks in Australia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were totally shocked she could rap the verses so well,\u201d the group offered in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2019Hip Hop Hooray\u2019 is like modern-day Shakespeare,\u201d Wilson adds. She had first mastered the song for her role in the 2019 film <em>Boy Genius<\/em>. \u201cIt took me a month to learn because it\u2019s so complex and nuanced; it was like training for a marathon. The rhythms and tempos are so unique and creative. When I was quarantined and recovering from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/covid-19\/\" id=\"auto-tag_covid-19\" data-tag=\"covid-19\">COVID-19<\/a> I wanted to see if I still remembered it, kind of like a brain exercise. To my surprise I did. I thought it would be fun to put it on my Instagram to show people I was doing OK and to make them smile.
