The Morrison Hotel Gallery\u2019s first virtual exhibition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.morrisonhotelgallery.com\/collections\/WiyOia\/SIR-A-Retrospective-of-Rock-Royalty\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>SIR: A Retrospective of Rock Royalty<\/em><\/a>, focuses on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/elton-john\/\" id=\"auto-tag_elton-john\" data-tag=\"elton-john\">Elton John<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit features photos by Ed Caraeff, Norman Parkinson and the late Terry O\u2019Neill, who photographed John for several decades up until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/terry-oneill-photographer-beatles-rolling-stones-dead-913885\/\">his death in 2019.&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere must be 8,000 images of Elton going back to 1971,\u201d says Robin Morgan, CEO of Iconic Images, who manages O\u2019Neill\u2019s estate. \u201cTerry said he liked to be a ghost. He liked to be a shadow around [his subjects]. He didn\u2019t want to get involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>John and O\u2019Neill first met in 1970 after O\u2019Neill heard \u201cYour Song\u201d on the radio and tried to track him down. \u201cElton had his first recording contract and got his first song played on radio,\u201d Morgan says. \u201cTerry heard it and he thought he was listening to brilliant new American star. He went in search of this guy and found Elton a mile away from where he lived. They became firm friends, and Terry became the go-to guy for Elton.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Sir: A Retrospective of Rock Royalty<\/em> premiered on April 2nd. You can see it online now, as well as prints for sale that were autographed by John.<\/p>\n<p>John\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/elton-john-new-2020-farewell-tour-dates-911652\/\">upcoming leg<\/a> of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/elton-john-north-america-tour-dates-postpone-cancel-coronavirus-967695\/\">recently postponed<\/a> to 2021 due to COVID-19 concerns. The trek was scheduled to kick off on March 28th in Toronto.
