Hayley Williams<\/a> has released a solo acoustic quarantine cover of Phoebe Bridgers\u2019<\/a> \u201cSmoke Signals,\u201d made in tribute to Williams\u2019 friend\/collaborator Lindsey Byrnes, whose father recently passed away.<\/p>\n

In the caption of her video, Williams wrote: \u201cFor Lindsey\u2026<\/span>woke up today a lil heavy. didn\u2019t know why, just some days are like that. But then realized I am inextricably connected to my friend @lindseybyrnes whose sweet father just passed away. One of her favs is Phoebe Bridgers so this self-serenade is actually for her since I can\u2019t hang with her or hug her tight. Check on your friends and send them your love. Just because we are all isolated right now doesn\u2019t mean we aren\u2019t as close. Our connection to each other defies space and time.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added a post-script for Bridgers: \u201cI\u2019m sorry for butchering your beautiful guitar parts. And also, this is just a perfect song.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bridgers recently appeared as a guest vocalist on Williams\u2019 new solo single, \u201cRoses\/Lotus\/Violet\/Iris,\u201d<\/a> along with her Boygenius<\/a> bandmates Lucy Dacus<\/a> and Julien Baker<\/a>. She also sings on the 1975\u2019s \u201cJesus Christ 2005 God Bless America,\u201d<\/a> and released her own single \u201cGarden Song\u201d<\/a> in February.<\/p>\n

Williams\u2019 debut solo album, Petals for Armor<\/em>, is out May 8th via Atlantic. She just released an aerobics music video<\/a> for her song \u201cOver Yet.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n
