Though, each town will see one new face set to take over for the next four years.<\/p>\n<p>Dillon has two council members returning to their roles, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Brad Bailey (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/opinion-brad-bailey-welfare-of-residents-town-core-rejuvenation-are-key\/\">Brad Bailey<\/a> and Kyle Hendricks. Steven Milroy also will be joining the council. As the sole newcomer, Milroy, a software entrepreneur and emergency medical technician, said he\u2019d prioritize improvements to traffic and pedestrian safety once sworn in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTraffic volume is increasing, and with new development and visitors, that problem will continue,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/opinion-steve-milroy-traffic-safety-are-top-priorities\/\">Milroy told the Summit Daily<\/a> earlier this month. \u201cWe need to balance business and tourist needs with those of full-time residents.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<div class=\"row sd-donation sd-donation-mobile p-0\">\n<div class=\"col-xl-4 p-2\">\n<div data-bg=\"url(https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/SDN-logo-white-1.png)\" class=\"p-0 mt-2 mb-2 h-75 text-center rocket-lazyload\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/SDN-logo-white-1.png\" class=\"logo m-0 p-0 invisible\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-bg=\"url(https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/sdn-banner-paypal.jpg)\" class=\"col-xl-8 p-3 text-center rocket-lazyload\">\n<h3 class=\"d-inline mr-3\">Support Local Journalism<\/h3>\n<p><button class=\"btn d-inline\" type=\"button\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/donate\/?utm_source=article&amp;utm_medium=website&amp;utm_campaign=donation&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_content=mid-article\">Donate<\/a><\/button><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Milroy also said he\u2019d push to see new retail businesses open in the Dillon core and would try to find ways to encourage more long-term rentals in town to support families and the town\u2019s workforce.<\/p>\n<p>Bailey noted that even though he\u2019d be returning to the council, he still has a lot on his mind in terms his vision for the town\u2019s future, including continuing to pursue economic rejuvenation efforts in the town core and lifting up projects to preserve the town\u2019s natural amenities.<\/p>\n<p>The Dillon Town Council members will be sworn in April 21, the first meeting following Election Day.<\/p>\n<p>In Silverthorne, both Michael Spry and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Tanya Shattuck (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/qa-with-silverthorne-town-council-candidates\/\">Tanya Shattuck<\/a> will return to their positions. Amy Manka, the town\u2019s only new council member, will join them.<\/p>\n<p>Manka, an accountant and founder of the One Man\u2019s Junk Summit County Facebook page, said she would prioritize improving traffic and pedestrian safety once sworn in, along with pushing for the construction of a new fire station in town. Though, she said her goals largely would be influenced by feedback from community members.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can offer honesty and thoughtful leadership from a different and practical perspective to the council,\u201d <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Manka wrote on her candidacy (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/opinion-amy-manka-focus-on-pedestrian-safety-fire-station-traffic\/\">Manka wrote about her candidacy<\/a>. \u201cI want my council position to be a direct voice for our community.
