Ed O\u2019Brien has shared his tender new song \u201cCloak of the Night,\u201d an acoustic duet with Laura Marling<\/a> and the latest offering from the Radiohead<\/a> guitarist\u2019s upcoming debut solo album Earth<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHello good people \u2026 here is \u2018Cloak of the Night\u2019.. it features one of my favourite and one of the most gifted musicians on this planet Laura Marling,\u201d O\u2019Brien said of the track on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cWe sang this together one cold and damp February afternoon in a studio in Willesden, North London. Hope you like it\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019Brien previously shared the expansive \u201cBrasil<\/a>,\u201d energetic \u201cShangri-La<\/a>\u201d and psychedelic \u201cOlympik<\/a>\u201d from his debut LP, due out April 17th. Unlike those three lengthy tracks, \u201cCloak of the Night,\u201d Earth<\/em>\u2019s closing track, clocks in at only two-and-a-half minutes, and strips off much of the studio adornment of those previous songs to focus on EOB\u2019s acoustic guitar work.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCloak of the Night\u201d also arrives one day before Marling releases her own new album Song for Our Daughter<\/em>, the British singer-songwriter\u2019s first LP since 2017\u2019s Semper Femina<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

EOB previously planned on bringing Earth<\/em> to North American venues<\/a> this May, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the status of that trek is unclear.<\/span><\/p>\n
